FengLi Jiao Yue Top Configuration: Luna, Second Generation
The FengLi Jiao Yue — 皎月, also called the Luna 2 — is the second generation of FengLi’s Luna design. It keeps the flowing lunar profile of the original and pushes the materials considerably further.
This is the Top Configuration, the highest specification the model was offered in. A ZircuTi body carries a large Copper Damascus inlay, mother-of-pearl accents, a matching ZircuTi clip, and a boomerang-pattern Damascus blade. Browse our other preowned knives for pieces documented to the same standard.
ZircuTi, Copper Damascus, and Mother-of-Pearl
Four materials share one handle, and none of them read as decoration bolted onto a design. Each one follows the architecture of the knife.
The Copper Damascus works in warm gold and bronze concentric figures. The ZircuTi runs cobalt, violet, and amber through tight swirls. Mother-of-pearl traces the long curve between them like a seam of light. Tilt the knife and every one of those surfaces changes at a different rate.
That interaction is deliberate, and it recurs across FengLi’s catalog. The studio has built a reputation on material combinations that behave differently under changing light. Collectors tracking this segment will find context in our guide to the most valuable custom knifemakers.
The mother-of-pearl carries a specific significance here. FengLi made it standard on the Luna 2 despite the added cost, so that more owners could have it rather than reserving it for a top tier.
The Boomerang Damascus Blade
The blade carries a boomerang pattern — sweeping arcs that repeat down the length and pull the eye toward the tip. It measures 0.157 inches at the spine, which gives the knife real presence for its size.
Standard Jiao Yue configurations shipped with an M390 blade. The Top Configuration replaces it with patterned Damascus, which is a large part of what separates this specification from the rest of the run. Our knife knowledge library covers how smiths make pattern-welded steel.
Who FengLi Is, and What We Can Verify
We describe makers accurately, and that matters more when the public record is thin.
FengLi is a Chinese designer whose work has been publicly visible since at least 2021. The Luna established a preference for elongated profiles, large-area inlays, and light-reactive materials. Mulan, Devil Eye, Jiao Yue, and Prism each developed that direction further.
On the available record we consider FengLi a boutique designer-led studio producing limited-configuration collector folders. We do not call this a one-of-one handmade custom, and we make no claim that one person produced every component. What we can say confidently is that the Jiao Yue Top Configuration sits at the top of the model’s specification range. See our full range of folding knives for comparable builds.
Condition of This FengLi Jiao Yue
Mint, with no visible flaws anywhere on it.
The ZircuTi and Copper Damascus show no handling marks. The mother-of-pearl carries no chips or lifted edges at the borders. Nobody has sharpened the edge. We acquired it from an established collector who kept it in the display stand rather than in a pocket. Read how we grade to see what our condition language means.
What Comes With This FengLi Jiao Yue
The knife ships with its acrylic display stand.
One thing we disclose plainly: FengLi did not issue a Certificate of Authenticity with this piece, and we will not manufacture one. What we offer instead is our own documentation — every marking and material photographed in detail before listing, and our standing guarantee on what we sell.
The Luna 2 has since been discontinued and now trades only on the secondary market. Read more about how we document provenance on every piece we list.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Jiao Yue the same knife as the Luna 2?
Yes. Jiao Yue, Jiaoyue, 皎月, and Luna 2 all name the same model. It is the second generation of FengLi’s Luna, and collectors use the names interchangeably.
What is ZircuTi?
ZircuTi is a patterned composite of zirconium and titanium. Heat treatment brings out the blues, violets, and ambers, so the color lives in the metal rather than sitting on it as a coating.
What makes the Top Configuration different?
It is the highest specification the Jiao Yue was offered in. Standard versions used an M390 blade with titanium. The Top Configuration adds the Damascus blade, the Copper Damascus inlay, the ZircuTi body and clip, and the mother-of-pearl.
Why is there no Certificate of Authenticity?
FengLi did not issue one with this configuration. We tell you that directly rather than implying paperwork exists. Our own photographic documentation and our guarantee stand behind the piece.
How do you verify authenticity?
We check construction, materials, machining, and design details against known references for the model. We also photograph every marking before listing. Learn more about our grading process on our FAQs page.
