Heretic Knives Wraith Auto in Vegas Forge Damascus and Damtanium
This Heretic Knives Wraith Custom Auto originally debuted at the 2018 California Custom Knife Show. Two materials out of the same forge define it. The clip point blade is polished and blued Vegas Forge damascus. The bolster is Damtanium, the titanium damascus Vegas Forge makes on the same floor.
The handle is one solid piece of carbon fiber, milled as an integral chassis rather than assembled from scales and liners. Blade length is 3.75 inches. Overall length is 8.75 inches at 5 ounces. The knife is preowned and in excellent condition. It sits with the rest of our automatic knives.
About Heretic Knives
Heretic Knives started in 2015 as a husband-and-wife operation. The shop works out of Sebastian, Florida, and everything it builds is made in the United States. Heretic runs small production batches instead of volume manufacturing. The custom pieces come out in ones and twos.
The Wraith is the integral design in that lineup. Standard production versions run a 6061 aluminum chassis with a carbon fiber bolster. This one inverts the arrangement. Damtanium and the Integral Carbon Fiber Handle
Vegas Forge builds the Damtanium on this Heretic Knives Wraith Auto from Grade 5 and Grade 2 titanium. It heats the layers to roughly 1900 degrees, forge welds them under a pneumatic hammer, then pattern presses the billet. The colour arrives afterward through anodizing. Nothing here is painted and nothing rubs off.
Heretic finished this bolster with a polished flat and orange peel bevels. The contrast is deliberate. Light hits the flat and the colour runs blue through violet into copper. The handle underneath is a single milled block of carbon fiber. No liners, no backspacer, nothing to work loose. Grooves run the length of the spine for grip. A lanyard hole passes through the butt.
The Polished Vegas Forge Damascus Blade
The blade comes from the same forge as the bolster. Vegas Forge damascus, polished and blued, ground to a 3.75-inch clip point. A swedge runs the top edge toward the tip. Jimping cuts a notched thumb rest into the spine behind the ricasso.
A button lock fires it and holds it. Press once to launch the blade, press again to release and close. Hardware is satin finished throughout. The black stainless pocket clip mounts tip up in the Heretic double-pronged pattern.
